Roman Town for classroom use:
A multiple-use license version allows Teachers to easily integrate Roman Town into their class curriculum or learning lab.
Roman Town gives students the opportunity to dig in for a “hands-on” learning experience. Roman Town was designed specifically for 8 to 15 year-old students and is a fun complement to any Roman History or Latin curriculum. Students explore the world of Romans in the 1st century AD through the discovery and analysis of the objects Romans used every day.
Roman Town highlights the significant contributions Romans made to art, architecture, language, and more. Students who play Roman Town compare the similarities and contrast the differences between ancient Roman culture and their world today. Game-play promotes analytical thinking and problem solving, and in-game evaluations and quizzes strengthen fact retention. Roman Town conforms to the curriculum mandates and Standards of Learning of many states.
Roman Town is a single player game but can be easily adapted to group play, classroom instruction, and cooperative learning activities. In the classroom, Roman Town is especially effective when played on a SMART Board: students can literally dig in with their fingers and work collaboratively on a realistic simulation of an authentic excavation site.
